Wade is a limited project observing the salt mining community in Lake Retba (Lac Rose - Pink Lake), Senegal.

Senegal is the largest salt producer in West Africa, mining over 450,000 tonnes each year; and accounts for approximately one-third of production. The project explored the lives of the salt miners and their relationship with the water as a sustaining force.

These images were foundational to the development of a short form documentary by Eater - How 60,000 Metric Tons of Salt Are Harvested from One of the World’s Saltiest Lakes  -  as part of their Handmade Series. The documentary later went on to be nominated for a James Beard Broadcast Media Award in 2022.
